Beyond Your City Walls
The world map is where much of Total Battle's action happens. Outside your city, you'll find resources to gather, monsters to fight, crypts to explore, and other players to interact with.
What You'll Find on the Map
Resource Tiles
Scattered across the map are tiles where you can gather resources:
- Wood tiles (forests)
- Stone tiles (quarries)
- Iron tiles (mines)
- Silver tiles (mines)
Send troops to these tiles to gather resources and bring them back to your city.
Wellsprings
Special locations where you can gather Tar - a resource needed for advanced upgrades.
Dragon Mounds
Special locations where you can gather Gold - the most valuable resource in the game.
Monsters
Attacking monsters provides:
- Valor Points
- Experience Points for your hero and captains
- Event points during monster events
Crypts
Ancient dungeons that your Captains can explore:
- Different difficulty levels
- Contain valuable loot
- Gives you materials for crafting equipment
- Rare crypts gives you gems you can place on your equipment
Other Players
You'll see other players' cities on the map. You can:
- Attack them (PvP combat)
- Scout them (see their defenses)
- Send reinforcements (if they're clan members)
- Trade resources
March Distance Matters!
One of the most important concepts for new players:
Closer targets = Faster trips = More efficiency
- Attacking a nearby monster takes minutes
- Attacking a distant monster can take hours
- Your troops are unavailable while marching
Always prioritize nearby targets! A quick trip to a close monster is often better than a long trip to a slightly better one.
PvE Before PvP
As a new player, focus on fighting PvEs (Player vs Environment) before attacking other players (Player vs Player):
Start With:
- Low-level monsters
- Gathering from resource tiles
- Easy crypts with your captains
Avoid For Now:
- Attacking other players' cities
- High-level monsters
Once your army is stronger and you understand the game better, you can venture into PvP.
Using the Watchtower
Your Watchtower helps you see what's happening on the map. You can search for crypts, monsters etc.
World Map Tips
- Attack close targets for efficiency
- Don't leave troops idle - always be gathering or fighting
- Scout before attacking unfamiliar targets
- Coordinate with clan members for bigger targets
