Description of this clan building
The Clan Foundry produces Steel which is one of the 3 clan resources required to upgrade clan buildings.
Each clan can have a maximum of 3 from this building type.
How it works
Sending resources
The Foundry building converts Iron (a city resource) into Steel (a clan resource).
Therefore clan members must send Iron with a caravan to this clan building so that it can operate. To send resources, click on the building, select Caravan, choose a captain and the amount you want to send, and then start the march. While there is a 20% tax on resources send to other players, there isn't any tax on resources send to clan buildings, so everything that you send there can be used by the building.
Collecting resources
In contrast to city resources, clan resources do not need to be collected regularly. They are automatically stored in the clan capital.
Production modes (efficiency levels)
There are 6 different production modes, which are best described as efficiency levels.
At each level, Iron consumption (input) is always the same: 250k per hour.
But depending on how much Iron is available in the building, the Steel production (output) is different.
The more Iron is available, the more efficient the building produces Steel.
The levels of required Iron are: >0 | >3M | >6M | >12M | >25M | >50M
If there is more than 50M Iron available in this building, it produces Steel at the highest efficiency.
Note that the production per hour that is shown in the building (see screenshot above) is only the base rate. It does not include the bonuses from the tile where it is placed on or clan researches that improve the production.
How to build it
The building can be placed by the Clan Leader or Superiors by clicking on a free tile on the map, select build, and scroll a bit down in the list of available buildings.
The building cost is 5M each of Lumber, Iron, and Stone. As they are city resources and not clan resources, they are taken from the player's resources, not from a clan resource pool. The costs can be reduced by Clan Researches.
Where to place it
The efficiency of the production also depends on the tile bonus on which the building is built on.
Before placing it, it is therefore important to search for a tile that offers the best bonus for Steel production (usually a high desert mountain). To see the bonus for a tile, just click on it. The highest available tile bonus is 90%.
